After the roof is stripped the chimney flashing is carefully removed to make way for new flashing. Before G&C starts installing the roof shingles they puts down ice and water shield along the perimeter of the house. This process is done 3ft from the bottom of roof edge as per building code. G&C also puts this barrier in the valley's of the house for extra protection from wind driven rain. The entire roof then receives a layer of 30 lb. felt paper as a vapor barrier before the new IKO roof shingles are installed.
